“US allies”, including The Netherlands, France and Germany, have been moving their gold from the US. We think it more than just housekeeping.
Weird Trump commentary, and inaction by Republicans in Congress, must be concerning. The weirdness, or crazy, includes the ongoing tariff war, the real war in Iran, comments on Greenland and Canada, and the idea that the US could just stop trading with those countries who have a surplus with the US.
If sovereigns don’t want to have the US government to bail their gold, why would they want to buy US government debt?
