Globalist Proprietary Limited (“GPL”) was formed in June 2026. Its antecedent, Turner Street Advisors Proprietary Limited was a licensed investment manager which was sold to an unrelated entity in May 2025.
GPL intends to apply to the Australian Securities & Investment Commission (“ASIC”) for an Australian financial services license (“AFSL”). GPL will then offer bespoke investment management services to non-retail clients, which are defined by ASIC as investors with an annual income greater than $250k or net assets greater than $2.5m.
GPL expects its AFSL application to be finalised and considered in early 2027.
Why the name?
Globalist is nowadays a derogatory label.
Over time, the term has taken on negative or coded connotations in certain political circles. The critics and populist movements often use “globalist” as a pejorative term to suggest that elites, multinational corporations, and internationalists who are intentionally weakening local economies and traditional cultures. Additionally, “globalist” is frequently used as an antisemitic dog whistle. In this context, it is used as a coded term for Jews, accusing them of being part of a secretive international elite conspiring to control world governments, banking, and media.
Those who see globalism as evil and globalists as scoundrels and villains are actually projecting their own thoughts, motives and values as offensive or defensive mechanisms. Ironically, those attempting to smear are often rent-seekers (e.g. Trump family and their enablers).
However, we define globalist as:
A person advocates for international cooperation, free trade, and viewing the world as an interconnected community. In politics and economics, the term typically describes someone who believes that foreign policy and economic planning should prioritize global integration rather than strictly individual national interests.
Hence, we think being a globalist, and in particular, a globalist investor is a GOOD thing!
